Semper Fi Fact: Chesty, the Marine Corps Mascot, is that the English bulldog mascot has been promoted in rank several times. The Marine Corps started promoting their mascots from the rank of Private to Lance Corporal in the 1950s. Then, in 1988, Chesty was promoted to Corporal, and later to Sergeant in 2018.
